Song inspiration...

 Patrick Wolf - Lupercalia II

Patrick Wolf is a great style inspiration for our our own artist, with his outlandish costumes and vlunerable, troubled persona. His arty short films made us think about using slow motion in our video as our song is quite slow and it could help create an atmosphere around the track.

Noah and The Whale - Life is Life

This bands music videos are really stylized and we love the way they frame their shots and edit their videos together. In the video 'Life is Life' they use some really photographic images. The opening shot of the girl walking towards the camera for me is fascinating and I would love to produce something with a similar effect.

Conor Oberst is another troubled young artist we have drawn inspiration from. This video is interesting in that it only contains 1 shot throughout the entire video, where Oberst is drawing and illustrating the lyrics on a piece of glass. It was suprisingly engaging, and we didn't feel the need to skip ahead to the end of the video. We have a similar concept of our artist talking to himself by writing on a mirror, however I think for our video we may have to use other shots to fill in the gaps, as it might get quite boring.

Marina and the Diamonds - I am not a robot

In this video Marina is seen in a range of different robot themed costumes where she lip syncs along to the song. It works well to keep a constant theme and carry it through the video. In our video we had a similar idea with our artist being dressed up as different people running with the theme of identity.

Melissa Etheridge - Message to myself
This video also plays with the idea of writing on a piece of glass, but it does use other shots and isn't restrained to 1 wide shot.
